Property Condition Report

 

A Property Condition Report is a requirement under the Residential Tenancy Act and must be completed within seven days after a tenant has entered into occupation of residential premises under a residential tenancy agreement.

The Property Condition Report describes the condition of the premises at the time of occupancy and two copies are given to the tenant. A tenant has the opportunity to mark the second copy in amanner that shows the information with which the tenant disagrees after which that copy will be given back to the landlord (lessor) to review and amend where and if appropriate.

At the end of the Tenancy

At the end of the tenancy and within 14 days after the termination of the tenancy the lessor must conduct and inspection of the premises and prepare a final report describing the condition of the premises and provide a copy of that report to the tenant.
